Astrology is an ancient art and science and has been with us for a considerable time, yet it is still greatly misunderstood and most people, with little or no knowledge of the subject, believe that it is basically a fortune telling device. What they fail to understand, which is vitally important, is that astrology will not tell us what to do or what we will do in the future, only we can activate our freewill to decide on which pathway to take when an opportunity presents itself. So you can see that what astrology CAN do is to show us when these windows of opportunity are going to arrive, but HOW we deal with them is entirely up to us. This is why this section is entitled FUTURE LIFE TRENDS rather than using the word prediction.
Nobody is able to explain just how the planets that circumvent the zodiac do actually affect us, but it certainly seems as though they do. If you have trouble with accepting this fact, then I ask you to just imagine that your horoscope, your map for this life, is like a receiver inside you that is planted there when you are born. As the planets travel around the zodiac in their various cycles, all at different speeds, they send out signals that are picked up by your receiver and you react to them in your own unique way, which in turn leads to the outcome of the events that you experience.
The horoscope or natal chart will often show us how we may react to a given set of circumstances, but freewill is what helps us to decide our future and is the strongest influence upon us. The future does not “pop” out of the ground like a mushroom, but is a product of our past actions and this therefore ensures that we are responsible for our future, albeit that other people will be inclined to influence us, much depending upon how readily we are likely to accept their opinions!
It is therefore possible to see that no astrologer can tell you what is going to happen, only the times when you will be called upon to make certain decisions. This is, of course, very useful in that to be forewarned is to be forearmed, where you are given enough time to prepare yourself and your life circumstances before you reach decision time!
It is very helpful and positive to be able to know when it is the right or wrong times to take action, as decisions on these matters are quite often decided on a basis of emotions. Logic does not understand emotions and that’s why we often tend to choose the wrong moment to make an important move in our lives.
With the benefit of the knowledge of astrology we can change all of this and, by observing the phases of the MOON and all the other planetary combinations, we can choose the right time to start a new phase in our life, buy a new house, start a new business etc.
If we are going through a somewhat stressful time, astrology can also tell us when we will be likely to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. Just knowing this can be a great comfort to us, as when we are experiencing a hard period, it does often seem as though it is going to go on forever!
The information within the natal chart is enormous and is the story of our life path, the broad spectrum of our journey, however, we actually are the ones to fill in the fine details as we travel along, using our freewill to make decisions or to take one side-track or another.
A chart may show an abundance of opportunities but if a person doesn’t make the effort to utilise and recognise them, then they will come to nothing. The chart simply signals the time of the opportunities and it is up to us to decide how to deal with them.
